PoolCar Support for Multiple Timezones
By design, PoolCar operates using a single company-wide timezone, which is set in Application Settings > Localisation by your system administrator. Additionally, individual users can select their own timezone under My Settings in the bottom navigation bar.
However, if the company default timezone and a user's selected timezone do not match, discrepancies in booking times may occur. To ensure consistency and avoid confusion, we strongly recommend that all users operate within the same company default timezone and make bookings accordingly.
We understand that this may present challenges for organisations operating across multiple time zones, and we are currently assessing the impact of this setup on affected customers. In the meantime, we recommend aligning all users to the company’s default timezone to maintain accuracy in PoolCar bookings.
Example (Australia-based company):
A company headquartered in Sydney (UTC+10:00) with offices in Perth (UTC+8:00) and Adelaide (UTC+9:30) sets its default timezone to Sydney time. Employees in Perth and Adelaide should make all bookings based on Sydney time to ensure consistency across the organisation.
For example, if a Perth-based employee needs a vehicle at 9:00 AM Perth time (UTC+8:00), they should book it in PoolCar as 11:00 AM Sydney time (UTC+10:00). This avoids any discrepancies in availability and booking management.
