How it works |
---|
If you wish to use a dedicated kiosk PC, you can create a user account within PoolCar with the word "kiosk" in the username field. Example usernames include "kiosk" or "supplybuildingkiosk". So long as it has the word ‘kiosk’ in it. Note for customers with SSO: the only option for kiosk in SSO is for the customer to add a new user with kiosk in the username into their federated identity system, and leave that unlocked on the kiosk PC. This is a special user account with restricted menu options that will only show the Check In/Out page, ideal for an unattended common area. It will automatically refresh the page every few minutes. AccessKiosk accounts have access to all Pools and bookings, there is no limiting access to what vehicles a Kiosk account can check out or in. This does mean there is nothing stopping users checking out/in the wrong booking (by accident or malice). Share a RideThe Share a Ride functionality is controlled via the Application Settings - Passengers tab. You can disable the Passenger Manifest, and hide or show the links to share a ride here. Multiple KiosksCustomers can re-use the same kiosk account since each kiosk account will have the same level of access. The only benefit from having multiple kiosk accounts would be to know which account was used to check out/in a particular booking. Please note that the kiosk functionality is not able to be changed. Devices to use to run the kiosk functionalityThere are no known limitations (apart from using the latest operating system) on what device to use the kiosk user account on. Devices could include: PC, Laptop, Tablet, etc. PoolCar App CompatibilityThe Kiosk user account is not compatible with the PoolCar App |
