For organisations with larger numbers of vehicles, it is often useful to group these resources into administrative groups for easy viewing and assigning to users.

Creating groups

  • Log into the Smartrak Admin site (NZ or AU)

  • Navigate to Manage > Groups

  • Click on the 'Create' Tab on the right hand side of the main Groups page

  • Enter the name of the group in the 'Name' text box as shown below

  • If you want all users to automatically be assigned to this group, then tick the 'Yes' box under the Name box

To Assign Resources or Users to Groups

  • Click on the 'Assign' Tab on the right hand side of the main Groups page

  • To assign resources to a group, click on the blue 'Resources to Group' button as shown below

  • Then select the group that you want the vehicles to belong to from the drop down menu

  • From the list that appears in the left hand box under "Resources not assigned to Group" select the vehicles you wish to assign to the group and add them by clicking on the right facing arrow

  • The selected resource(s) will then show in the right hand list as being successfully assigned

  • To assign users to the group (which will automatically provide them with viewing access to the vehicles), follow the same steps but under the 'Users to Group' option

To Remove Resources or Users from Groups

  • To remove resources or users from a group, simply select them in the right hand 'Resources assigned to Group' list and click on the left facing arrow

  • The resource or user should now appear in the left hand list as unassigned
