How to create a Geofence | |
---|---|
Go to the Draw a geofence icon on the left hand side of the Map screen | |
Draw the geofence by clicking around the outline of the zone you want to geofence. To end the geofence, click again on the first point you drew as per the on-screen instruction Enter an appropriate name for the geofence. Please note that geofence names can be a maximum of 40 characters long and cannot include the < or > characters. | |
Allocate a class to the geofence. Class is used to designate a certain site (e.g. normal, job site, region, speed limited) and/or set up entry/exit notifications.
| |
Select Save and a "Success! geofence saved" confirmation will pop up Now that the geofence has been created, the activity within the geofence is being recorded. Reports can determine a vehicle's entry and exit, time inside the geofence, distance traveled within and in-geofence overspeeding and entry and exit reporting. | |
More information about Classes | Class is used to designate a certain type of site, can be assigned a particular colour and can be filled or outline only. Custom configured classes do not have any special properties such as the Speed Limited or Alerts/notifications on Enter and/or Exit classes, they are mainly used to colour the geofences on the map, and are reported on in the Map Asset Export report from Smartrak Admin - see Map Asset Export. |
To create a custom class, in the edit geofence box, click on Add a new class Enter the Class Name, confirm if you want it to be filled or outline only (example below), and assign colour (from options supp[lied) Once classes have been created, they can also be edited. Click on Edit classes, and from here the colour, name and filled/outline attribute can be edited or the class can be deleted. | If you need to add an additional class, click on Add |
