Why

Overspeed Reporting provides a granular level of detail on speeding occurrences to better support reporting on vehicle driving behaviour. One of its aims is to provide assistance in
speeding investigations, and to provide a clearer form of analysis.

Smartrak encourages all occurrences of speeding to be fully investigate for their validity before disciplinary action is taken.

What

Watch the following video that guides you through the Overspeed Reporting features.

Overspeed Reporting features:

Overspeed Severity ReportThis report produces a summary of each assets speeding occurrences across a given time range,
with metrics relating to the regularity and extent of the occurrences. Each asset is then placed in a
severity category based on where the assets speeding metrics fit on a scale compared to the other
assets in the report. As such, the report is most effective when run with like vehicles, which share
similar overspeed thresholds.

Overspeed Period Report

This report will detail each individual speeding occurrence of a vehicle during a given
time frame. Each occurrence will have an associated start time, duration, distance and
minimum/maximum/average speed.

Overspeed Trips Mode

This mode will highlight visually on the map the section of road for which the vehicle was speeding.
It will help determine when, where, and for how long vehicles were overspeeding,

Polled Overspeed EventsOverspeed events will be generated every 5 seconds from the first overspeed instance to the
point at which the driver goes back below the overspeed threshold. By gaining a deeper insight
into exactly where the vehicle was throughout the speeding occurrence, it can be better
determined if the overspeed occurrence can be attributed to GPS inaccuracies, if any.

Existing Vehicle Behaviour Report

The existing Vehicle Behaviour Report has been updated to include a column for the total duration of overspeeding. Initially, this column will be marked as 'Not Recorded'. When the Overspeed Reporting
Enhancements become available for each fleet, this data will subsequently become available.

This report will remain for general insight into overall vehicle behaviour, however for more detailed information on overspeed behaviour, the new Overspeed Reports provide more thorough insight.
