Operational

The Operational Utilisation in the Utilisation Module is a new addition to the Insights Platform, designed specifically for Fleet Managers to monitor and optimise the efficiency of their fleets. The tab provides a measure of how much a vehicle (or set of vehicles) is utilised within a given time frame. It's calculated based on the proportion of 15-minute units a vehicle is in operation within that frame, expressed as a percentage.

Benefits

  • Sustainable Transportation: Understanding Operational Utilisation based on driving time directly correlates to environmental impact. By optimising each vehicle's driving time, fleet managers can reduce the fleet's overall carbon footprint, contributing to greener and more sustainable transportation solutions (and cost saving).

  • Data-driven Decision Making: Graphical Reporting Insights from driving time enable managers to make informed decisions related to fleet management, such as optimal scheduling and targeted maintenance based on actual usage. This ensures resources are utilised efficiently and minimises wasteful practices.

  • Performance Analysis & Future Strategy: Shape and review data in real-time, enable evaluating the driving time offers clarity on vehicle performance and driver efficiency. This data is pivotal for shaping future strategies, ensuring the fleet aligns with business needs while maintaining high standards of service.

In a nutshell, "Operational Utilisation" insights, grounded in driving time, offer a pathway to environmentally conscious fleet operations, smarter resource allocation, and effective long-term strategic planning.

Group History

If a customer moves a vehicle from one group to another then the utilisation will change for both groups in such a way that it will look like that vehicle always belonged to the new group.

Disclaimer

There are a few differences between the report and Insights calculations. Although they perform similar functions, they handle the data differently and are located in different areas of the codebase. Weekends and public holidays are never filtered out for Insights and are included in the Insights results. Additionally, Insights breaks the data into 15-minute time blocks. This might slightly skew the data, but it's unlikely to cause any significant issues.

Furthermore, in some cases, reports may have a minor calculation bug, which can be brought to the attention of the relevant team for investigation.
