When a vehicle has been stationary, with the key on, for a particular period of time (standard is 120 seconds), a stop event is triggered and the unit begins to calculate idle
Note: A vehicle sitting at rest with the engine off but key at the ACC (Accessory position) to perhaps operate the car stereo, will not be recording idle time.
