Once a vehicle has been stationary, with the key on, for a particular period of time (standard is 120 seconds), a stop event is triggered and the unit begins to calculate idle

These three examples below are of when idle is calculated

  1. Key on - (idle) - Moving from stopped
  2. Stop - (idle) - Moving from stopped
  3. Stop - (idle) - Key off

The calculation does not include the 120 seconds used to trigger a stop event.
