Interpreting the results

An overview will show

Last Communicated data

  • Resources which have talked to our server within the last 24 hours are marked as 'OK'
  • Resources which have talked to our server between 2 and 4 days ago day are marked as 'Uncertainand should be reviewed as soon as possible, to ensure continued reporting accuracy
  • Resources which haven't talked to our server in more than 4 days are marked as 'Investigate Immediately' and should be reviewed as soon as possible, to ensure continued reporting accuracy

GPS Accuracy data

  • Resources which have 10% or less of events with low accuracy (margin of 7+ metres) are marked as 'OK'
  • Resources which have more than 10% of events with low accuracy are marked as 'Investigate Immediately' and should be reviewed as soon as possible, to ensure continued reporting accuracy

Here is the key for what vehicles are NOT included in the report - these will show under a subheading as Ignored with the reason in the details column

  • Resources tagged as virtual are not included. (These are records of historically tracked vehicles, i.e sold/disposed of
  • Resources with a master switch or timed relay are not included. (Relays and master switches can give false data against a vehicle not tracking)
  • Resources with a Device type of Trailer are not included
  • Resources with an Active State that is not 'Active' are not included

Please note:

Resources can not have talked for many reasons, from being in a underground carpark, or the resource has been unused for a while.

We suggest that you ask the driver to use the vehicle and check on the map whether the vehicle can be seen.

If you are still unable to see the resource please put a ticket in our service portal Smartrak Service Desk , and we will investigate the issue for you.

  • If you are still unable to find an answer to your question, please log a support request via the Smartrak Service Desk
