This article explains how to permanently removed a temporarily removed key. If you have accidentally temporarily removed a key from the cabinet and misplaced the RFID tag/white fob you will need to bypass the cabinet’s secure method of returning a key.

This is only required for Keymaster cabinets using the provided RFID reader.

Instructions

Firstly we will need to use a spare tag/fob combo into the previously removed key - ensure you have one of each handy.

1, Replace the RFID tag & white key fob

  1. Enter the cabinet’s Setup menu using the admin PIN code to get access.

  2. Enter the Keys menu and select Change RFID Tag

  3. Select the Rego that has previously been temporarily removed

  4. Confirm that the tag should be changed

  5. Tap the spare black RFID tag against the reader.

    1. This RFID tag is now treated as the rego that needs to be removed.

2. Return the new combo to the cabinet

Now that the rego has been assigned to the spare tag - you can return the key to the cabinet. You will need to do so to permanently remove the key.

  1. On the landing page select Returning

  2. Tap the RFID tag to the reader

    1. Follow the prompts to return the key

3. Permanently remove the new combo from the cabinet

With the key returned to the cabinet you can now permanently remove the key

  1. Enter the cabinet’s Setup menu using the admin PIN code to get access.

  2. Enter the Keys menu and select Permanently Remove Key

  3. Select the Rego that you need to remove

  4. Confirm that Key should be removed

    1. Follow the prompts to permanently remove the key

Important - this will permanently remove the key from the cabinet. To restore this you will need to use the Add New Key option.
