How do I assign a location (base geofence) to a vehicle in Pool Booking?

Assigning a base geofence to plant in Smartrak Pool Booking

  • Log into the Smartrak Map site (NZ or AU)

  • Create a geofence (if you haven't already), if you're unsure how to do this, see - How to create a Geofence

  • Link geofence to location in Pool Booking, if you're unsure how to do this, see - How do I manage Locations in Pool Booking?

  • Assign the Base Location to the Pool Booking plant

    • Navigate to Pool Booking - Admin - Manage Plant

    • Select required plant

    • Select Base Location from drop down

    • Scroll down and click on Save

Unassigning/deleting a location linked to a base geofence

You can identify a location that is linked to a geofence as the ‘tick box’ next to the location will be greyed out and not able to be selected/deleted in this state.

Removing a location that is linked to a geofence that is linked to a plant is a step-by-step process:

  1. Navigate to Manage Locations and find the location that is associated with the geofence in question

  1. Click on Edit next to the selected location and wait for the information to populate up the top

  2. Under Geofence, change the selected geofence to <Select a geofence> (i.e. no geofence selected)

  3. Click Save

  1. Now navigate to Manage Plant and remove/change the base location against the plant (note that the Base Location dropdown will only include those locations that are currently linked to a geofence)

  2. Click Save

  1. Now navigate back to Manage Locations

  2. Find the location to change or delete, you will notice now that the location has become selectable

  3. Click on the delete icon next to the location

  4. Confirm deletion via the prompt

  5. Done
