Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) Report

Purpose

Purpose

Employers pay fringe benefits tax (FBT) on certain benefits they provide to employees, such as use of a company vehicle for personal use. The FBT Report allows organisations to work out the FBT data for tax claims and is designed to accommodate the Australian FBT statutory method which is hard-coded in the system.

For more information on this you can visit the Australian Tax Office (ATO) website.

Pre-requisites

Pre-requisites

The report is about the Fringe Benefit of having your vehicle at home with you. The bookings that apply are those where the vehicle was home garaged overnight.

The report does require vehicles to have an FBT price entered in the Asset Register here:

Things To Note

Things To Note

  • The decision on how many nights the vehicle was garaged at or near home is restricted to cabinet only. The FBT report still functions fully for organisations who don’t use cabinets, this just means you can't tell PoolCar how many nights the vehicle was garaged at or near home. The presumption is all nights were if they check out/in via the desktop site or mobile app.
