How do I assign Permission to Users?

For Map Users to view resources (vehicles) on their Smartrak map, they have to be assigned those resources by their company administrator.

Users can be given access to view vehicles either individually via Permissions or best practice is to assign the vehicle into a Group - https://smartrak.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SCP/pages/7307344

Install Email from Smartrak

The Client Administrator receives the Smartrak Install email, which comes from either website@smartrak.co.nz or website@smartrak.com.au), and includes the following information:

Assigning Permissions

  • Log into the Smartrak Admin site (NZ or AU)

  • Go to Manage > Permissions

  • You can assign either by Resource or User

Assigning Resources to Users

  • To assign a Resource to a user, Click on User, in top right hand corner.

  • Select the user from the drop down selection box.

  • A list of resources will show in the Resources not assigned to user area.

  • Click on the resource you wish to assign and click on >> to move that resource over to Resources assigned to user.

  • You will receive a message saying resources assigned to user at the top of the screen in green coloured box.

 

 

Assigning Users to Resources

  • You can also assign users to a resource by clicking on the Resource link at the top right hand side.

  • Select the resource from the drop down box.

  • A list of users will be shown on the left hand side.

  • Click on the user(s) you wish to view resource and then click on >> in the middle to move user(s) over to the Users assigned to resource

  • You will receive a message saying resources assigned to user at the top of the screen in green coloured box.
