NEW - iButton Migration Process (for use with NEW - Driver Based Reporting)

The seamless integration of Driver-based Reporting into iButton functionality will start building a picture of driver activity that you can access anytime.

This process is to migrate your organisations current ibutton information to the new Smartrak Identification platform.

Ibutton Migration Process

 

Raise a ticket in the Smartrak Service Desk requesting a list of all of your organisations ibuttons, the columns in the report are:

  • Company Name

  • Driver name

  • ibutton ID

  • Driver Phone Number

Log in to Smartrak Admin

You can check current iButton information under Manage > iButton, but the list required for this process needs to be the list supplied by Smartrak

 

Navigate to iButton Migration and click on Migrate

Green bar with confirmation will appear once complete

As the migration process is not reversible, you now lose visibility of the iButton pages all together

 

 

Now ibutton Driver-Based Reporting functionality is enabled for your organisation!

 

Importing iButtons and applying to People

 

Now you can import the iButtons and apply them to your people.

Navigate to Manage > People

a. Navigate to the Import tab

b. Export the spreadsheet of all your People - please note that People are different to Users - see this article here which explains the differences https://smartrak.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SCP/pages/1575190573

c. Check data for duplicate names. People’s names cannot be duplicated in the Smartrak Identification system, therefore if you have people with the same name in your organisation, middle names or pseudonyms will have to be used

d. Check data to ensure the mobile phone number is in the correct format e.g. 64270000000, no spaces or '+' are permitted. Mobile phone number is held against the Person and displayed against the vehicle on the map when the person is logged on with their iButton

 

e. Add the iButton identification number in against the correct person, from the list supplied by Smartrak, and select the Identification type from the drop down i.e. iButton. You can use the ‘Fill Down’ function in excel to copy the Identification type down all rows

 

 

f. Save the file to a folder on your PC

g. Choose the File, the ‘full import/delete people’ box must be ticked to move forward to the confirmation page

 

Confirm Import - final confirmation page will appear confirming the number of changes / additions that are being made to your People

You can check that everything has updated successfully by exporting all your People again.

Or you can check individually by navigating to Manage > People > Identifications

 

Viewing Identifications and Adding new iButtons

You can also see a list of all of your Identifications under Manage > Identifications where they can be revoked. Adding new iButtons in against people must be done via the Manage > People page
