Draft - Disconnecting Key Unit/s from Head Unit

Important note to start

Please note that there are USB and Power cables that run between the Head and Key Units (and between Key units of daisy-chained modules) of the KeyMaster so careful consideration is required when working on the KeyMaster to ensure all cables are disconnected prior.

Disconnect the Power Cable:

  1. Disconnect the power from the head unit

Remove Inner Doors:

  1. Open Inner door

  2. Disconnect power and USB

  3. Remove inner doors to lighten

Dismount from the Wall:

  1. Remove the cabinet from the wall by unscrewing the screws with washers

  2. Carefully remove the entire unit from the wall (you may need another person/s to help with this step)

Disconnect Internal Cabling:

  1. Disconnect the black cable with the 4-way green plug

  2. If your cabinet has an inline power switch, run this power switch back through the cable-run hole

  3. Feed the black USB cable back through the cable-run hole

Disconnect the Daisy-chained Modules:

  1. Detach the head unit from the body unit by loosening the screws slightly

  2. Carefully guide the head unit off the screws

  3. If you have multiple key cabinets screwed together, unscrew each remaining cabinet one by one while having someone hold it up for you
